50-year-old man in custody after Maple Leaf Inn standoff

PLYMOUTH -- Sheboygan County Sheriff's officials say a sheriff's deputy serving a civil paper at Maple Leaf Inn on State Road 57 in Plymouth around noon Wednesday was met by a man armed with a shotgun, who retreated into a room of the hotel. Officials say the standoff ended Wednesday around 2:30.

Police say a 50-year-old man from Plymouth was taken into custody after he agreed to surrender to SWAT personnel after a negotiator talked with him for an hour and a half.

Officials say there were shots fired, but no one was injured.

The Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office, Plymouth Police Department and the SWAT Team were on hand to resolve the situation.

The suspect is being held at the Sheboygan County Detention Center on charges of disorderly conduct, obstructing an officer and failure to comply with an officer's attempt to take him into custody.
