Hospital systems say they may offer insurance plan

MILWAUKEE -- A handful of Wisconsin hospital systems say they may be offering an insurance plan. The group includes Wheaton-Franciscan, Froedtert and Columbia St. Mary's, which would partner with commercial insurance companies.

This comes on the heels of Aurora Health Care announcing it also wants to offer a health insurance plan. These insurance plans would be available to businesses that would make a commitment to a health system exclusively in exchange for lower costs.

The move by these systems to offer health insurance coverage in conjunction with insurance companies is a result of national health care reform.
