Former Walker aides appear in court, separately

WAUKESHA -- Two men caught up in the on-going John Doe investigation appeared in court Friday -- at separate times.

Timothy Russell is charged with stealing more than $20,000 meant for veterans. Russell's live-in partner, Brian Pierick, faces charges after investigators say he tried to entice a 17-year-old boy for sex acts.

Investigators found text messages between Pierick and the teen while investigating his partner, Russell.

Russell was in court to support Pierick before heading to a Milwaukee County courtroom to face his own charges -- that he allegedly embezzled money intended for veterans. Russell faces a trial date of June 18th.

The charges in these cases are part of an on-going John Doe investigation sparked by Gov. Scott Walker. He tipped off authorities when he noticed money missing. That has led to five people being criminally charged.
