Rainy days and Mondays, Kenseth wins his second Daytona 500

DAYTONA, FL -- Wisconsin native Matt Kenseth won his second Daytona 500, holding off Dale Earnhardt Jr. to end one of the more bizarre races in NASCAR history.

The Daytona 500 had run for 53 consecutive years without a rain out.  That changed on Sunday, when rain postponed the Great American Race until Monday evening.

Then came a crash on lap two, which knocked out five-time NASCAR champ Jimmie Johnson.  That was nothing compared to the explosion on lap 160.

Driver Juan Pablo Montoya's collision with a large jet dryer driven by a safety truck  touched off a huge fireball, burning the race to a screeching halt.  Montoya and the driver of the truck were okay.

After a delay of over two hours, Cambridge, Wisconsin's Matt Kenseth won his second Daytona 500 (he also entered victory lane in 2009).

Dale Earnhardt Jr. came in second. Greg Biffle, Kenseth's Roush Fenway teammate, finished third, and Eau Claire's Paul Menard came in sixth.
