FOX6 viewers help raise $35,265 for the Red Cross, disaster relief

MILWAUKEE -- FOX6 viewers helped raise $35,265 for the American Red Cross and disaster relief during a mini-telethon Tuesday evening. The money will be used to help those in parts of the Midwest and South who were impacted by the devastating tornadoes this past week.

On Tuesday, the first Wisconsin-based American Red Cross volunteer, Dennis Erickson, boarded a plane to join other volunteers in Kentucky, one of the hardest hit by those tornadoes.

Since last Wednesday, Governors in six states have declared disaster emergencies, including Kentucky where our local volunteer will be going.

You can still make donations to support American Red Cross Disaster Relief by visiting redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

Contributions may also be sent to your local Red Cross chapter (2600 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53233) or to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013.
