Riverside University High School students sleep outside for charity
Students built boxes for temporary shelter Thursday night. At least one student told FOX6 News it is a good way to drive home a lesson.
“So many people don’t realize how good they have it. They have a home, a roof and food to go home to at night, and there are so many people that we don’t know that struggle on a daily basis. I’m sure there are kids here who go to a shelter after school,” Kali Huettl said.
This is the 12th year for “Box City” at Riverside University High School. This year’s event is expected to raise between $3,000 and $5,000. Total, it has raised $60,000 over 12 years.
