Two charged in I-43 shooting incident to stand trial

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Two alleged Milwaukee drug dealers charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the death of one man and the attempted killing of another March 18 in an incident that blocked traffic for hours on Interstate 43 will stand trial in the case.

22-year-old Donavan Bond was killed and Anthony Perkins was wounded by shots fired from another car alongside them. Perkins managed to climb into the back seat, open up the back door and get out of the car before it rolled down a hill and onto I-43.

25-year-old Louis Manuel Hernandez and 20-year-old Joshua Rosa were charged in the case. The first count carries a lifetime prison sentence. The other could result in 60 years.

Rosa and Hernandez are due back in court at the end of April.
