Demet pleads not guilty to writing signatures on recall petition

RACINE — The man accused of falsely writing in signatures on a petition to recall State Senator Van Wanggaard pleaded not guilty to the charges Thursday, April 5th.

59-year-old Mark Demet entered his plea in Racine County court Thursday morning. Demet faces nine felony charges including election fraud.

Police say Demet admitted to circulating the petition and signing the names of seven people on it.

Demet will be back in court in May.
