DOT video shows moments leading up to Sunday’s I-894 crash

MILWAUKEE -- A crash shut down traffic on I-894 Sunday afternoon, April 22nd. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has released new video showing the moments leading up to that crash.

The crash happened just before 2:00 Sunday afternoon when a driver struck the median wall and bounced off, crossing three lanes of traffic and hitting a bridge.

All eastbound lanes on I-894 were shut down and traffic was diverted off the freeway at 60th Street.

The driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Traffic was backed up in the area Sunday afternoon as traffic investigators worked the scene.
