Group gets sneak peek into construction at Lambeau Field

GREEN BAY -- The Green Bay Packers will be playing in a different looking Lambeau Field this season. Wednesday, April 25th, the team provided a glimpse of the progress it is making on stadium renovations.

Experts in charge of renovating Lambeau Field say the total project is only about 30% complete, but they say everything is on track.

Along with members of the Stadium District Board, Packers officials took a group on the roof to check out the construction progress. Currently, crews are focusing on having the north end zone work done for next season.

Panels for the north video board will being to be installed next week. The screens will be four times the size of the old ones.

Those behind the $143 million project say it's exciting to show off their progress.

"It's great to see people's faces when they see the progress we've made and it will be even better in August when we open it up," Scott Stenman, Director of Development with the Hammes Company said.

"Everything is on schedule. Workers are doing a great job. We've had a few weather instances, but nothing that has really pushed us off at all, so everything is on schedule," Packers spokesman Aaron Popkey said.

Fans will get their first glimpse of the new scoreboards on July 24th at the team's annual shareholders meeting.
