Working Mother magazine released Top 10 Most Powerful Moms

On Mother's Day, Working Mother magazine revealed its list of the Top 10 "Most Powerful Moms of 2012."

At number one, is Spanx creator Sarah Blakely, who has a two-year-old child. Blakely started Spanx at the age of 27 in 1998 with an investment of $5,000, after selling fax machines door-to-door.

Number two is author Suzanne Collins, who wrote the bestselling Hunger Games trilogy and has two teenage children.

Number three is Today Show host, Ann Curry who has two teenage children. Curry is the Today Show's second-longest-serving news anchor, and became the host in 2011.

Four is actress Angelina Jolie, who has seven children, many of them adopted. Jolie is as well-known for her charity work as her acting, and is married to Brad Pitt.

Number five is singer and new mom, Beyonce Knowles. Beyonce gave birth to daughter, Ivy just three months ago. In 2010, Beyonce broke the record for most Grammy Awards won in one night by a female artist, and has garnered 16 total Grammys.

Number six is actress and comedian Melissa McCarthy, who has two young children. McCarthy has appeared in Bridesmaids (playing Megan), and Mike and Molly on CBS.

Seven is Avon CEO and mother to three sons Sherilyn McCoy. McCoy spent three decades at Johnson & Johnson before taking over at Avon this year.

Number eight is Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook and mother to two young children. Sandberg previously worled for Google and is helping prep Facebook's forthcoming IPO.

Nine is SEC Chairwoman Mary Schapiro, who has two teenage daughters. Schapiro was nominated to become the 29th SEC chair in 2008 and took the position when Obama took office.

Number 10 is Twitter's head of international strategy, Katie Jacobs Stanton, who has three young children. Stanton has helped push Twitter into international markets and bring world leaders to the Twitterverse.
