Talgo hosts open house Sunday afternoon

MILWAUKEE -- Members of the public had the chance to get a first hand look at Talgo trains Sunday, May 20th during an open house event.

The Talgo trains were built for a rail line to Madison that was scrapped by Republicans due to cost.

The open house gave attendees the chance to see what the trains look like.

The trains were ordered by the Doyle administration for use on the Amtrak Hiawatha line, but the project was scrapped by the Walker administration, due to cost.

The open house was held near 27th and Hopkins from noon until 3:00 p.m. Sunday. The event was free and open to the public.
