One dead after head-on collision near Hollyhock Lane, North Ave. in Brookfield

BROOKFIELD -- Brookfield police say one of the two people badly injured in a head-on collision Tuesday evening, May 29th has died. Officials say a 69-year-old woman died at 12:40 a.m. Wednesday, May 30th at the hospital.

The woman has been identified as Candace Durdin from Wauwatosa.

Authorities say the second driver involved, a 30-year-old man from Waukesha remained in critical condition as of Wednesday. Officials have not yet released his name.

The two-vehicle crash occurred near Hollyhock Lane and North Ave. in Brookfield just after 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 29th.

Brookfield police say a Buick Regal, driven by the 30-year-old man was traveling westbound on North Ave. crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Dodge Caravan, driven by Durdin.

Flight for Life took the 30-year-old man to Froedtert Hospital. Durdin was also taken to the hospital, where she later died.
