MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee police are alerting citizens in one northside neighborhood about the release of a registered sex offender.

32-year-old Ian Woodard is a lifetime registrant that has been released to a residence near 14th and Burleigh. He was discharged from parole on May 29, 2012.

Woodard’s release required community notification. Officers from District 5 distributed a  flyer within a two-block radius of his residence.

Officers have made personal contact with Woodard to advise him that police are aware of his location and offense history.

Woodard was convicted in 1999 for first degree sexual assault of a child.
