West Bend man arrested for fifth OWI

MILWAUKEE – 37-year-old Derek Cramey of West Bend was arrested Friday, May 31st for his fifth OWI after a Milwaukee County Sheriff's deputy observed him deviating lanes on southbound I-43 at Lapham.

Sheriff's officials say Cramey performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests and was conveyed to the County Correctional Facility- Central for a blood draw.

Cramey's prior OWI convictions occurred in June 1998, October 2000, March 2008 and August 2008.  

Cramey has an extensive criminal history, including Manufacture and Deliver Cocaine, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Theft, and Disorderly Conduct.  

After his fourth OWI conviction, Cramey received seven months in jail, revocation of his license for 27 months, and was ordered to participate in a victim impact panel.  

The fifth offense is a Class H Felony, and if convicted, Cramey faces up to six years in prison.
