Third grader hops aboard a fire truck for last day of school!

MEQUON/THIENSVILLE -- Jebb Clark seems quite excited about his last day of third grade, as are the other students waiting with him for the bus to Wilson Elementary School. They pose for pictures as they wait.

When the bus does arrive, Jebb's sister is picked up, but not Jebb. How is he getting to school?

"I'm going on a fire truck," Jebb says.

How does he get to do that?

"My dad won a raffle."

Jebb's father won the Mequon-Thiensville School District's "Ride to School in a Fire Engine" fundraiser, which allowed Jebb to jump aboard and take a ride to Wilson Elementary School on the rig!

After getting to wave to people on the way to school, Jebb ran into the school eager to share his tale.

Of course, this was the last day of school, so Jebb and his friend were asked how school was going, and both said they were excited school was almost over and that summer was starting up.

Not a bad way to start the summer.

This is the second year the Thiensville Fire Department has offered the ride to school on a fire truck fundraiser opportunity.

Proceeds from the raffle benefit the Mequon-Thiensville School District.
