No personal fireworks allowed in Muskego, large display is on

MUSKEGO -- Muskego residents will be able to take in a fireworks display on Little Muskego Lake on Tuesday, July 3rd, but no other personal use of fireworks will be allowed, due to the dry conditions.

Muskego's Common Council voted unanimously to ban personal fireworks due to the lack of rain. Sparklers are also included in the ban, as they burn at a far higher temperature that many others.

Anyone with a fireworks permit for this year will be allowed to request a refund, or hope that the fireworks ban is lifted by July 7th. Each permit-holder can designate a three-day window from July 1st - 7th to set off fireworks when the ban is not in place.

If the ban extends beyond July 7th, permit holders will be able to use their permits for 2013, provided they show proof of insurance.
