Milwaukee sets record with 102-degree heat on July 4th

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport recorded a new record high for the city on July 4th. The new record is 102 degrees. The old record high for July 4th in Milwaukee was 98 degrees.

The last time we've seen 100-degree heat in southeast Wisconsin was July 14, 1995.

Thursday's record high in Milwaukee is 96 degrees -- which was set in 1911. There's a very good chance we'll break that record as well. The FOX6 weather forecast is for us to hit 100 degrees.

In addition, there is an excessive heat warning in effect for ALL of southeast Wisconsin until 10 p.m. Friday.
