MILWAUKEE -- U.S. Marshals are looking for 25-year-old April Welch -- a woman they say is wanted in connection with armed robbery and drugs.

U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Supervisor Doug Bachert says back in December 2010, a man looking to buy a car audio system and some cocaine told his friends he had $800. That amount caught the attention of Welch and her accused criminal cohorts.

"There was never anything to be sold --  no car stereo. It was all part of a scheme to get him away from where he was," Bachert said.

The scheme took them to an alley off 15th Street, where the man was robbed.

Investigators say Welch and the others made off with $240, used to finance the group's drug deals.

Hours later, police spotted the car Welch and the others were driving in. Welch hopped into the drivers seat, and took off. However, Welch was eventually caught and later released on bail.

Welch is described as 5'3" tall, weighing about 130 pounds.

U.S. Marshals say Welch could be hiding out on Milwaukee's north or south side.

She has a tattoo on both sides of her neck.

If you've seen Welch or have information that could help investigators, you're asked to call U.S. Marshals at (312) 353-8712.
