Bristol Renaissance Faire kicks off 25th anniversary celebration

BRISTOL -- The Bristol Renaissance Fair kicked off this weekend, for its 25th anniversary celebration! The Faire runs Saturdays and Sundays through Labor Day Weekend.

The Renaissance Faire provides a journey back in time -- to an era where lords and ladies ruled, and street performers entertained.

For the past 25 years, the Bristol Village has been transformed to reflect the 1500s, for the 200,000 people who visit.

"It's a place where you can forget about all of your problems and be elevated to a level of nobility that you don't normally get in society," one Renaissance Faire actor said.

At the Faire, juggling jokers and playful puppeteers make fantasy a reality.

"This is a place where you can just come and let it all go," actor Amil Stands said.

That's a reason why so many crowd the village during the Faire's run, and come back year after year.

"Everyone is really into it. Everyone dresses up, and comes out and has a great time!" visitor Barbie Truszynski said.
