Little League fundraiser held for children of Greenfield stabbing victim

GREENFIELD -- 38-year-old Maggie Litwicki was found stabbed to death in her Greenfield home. The mother of three children was allegedly killed by her 38-year-old boyfriend (and father of two of the children), Christopher Gish. Two of the three children are without parents, as their mother is dead and their father is in jail awaiting trial. The community is now uniting to help provide for Litwicki's three young children.

A Little League baseball game held Wednesday evening, July 25th began with a prayer for a family that is suffering. Eight-year-old Kaleb Gish threw out the first pitch in honor of his mom, Maggie Litwicki.

Members of the community and friends of the family packed into Kulwicki Park to rally behind Litwicki's three children. Proceeds from Wednesday night's "All-Star Game," "Home Run Derby" and raffle will be donated to benefit the children.

Deborah Wensierski told FOX6 News the children are staying with family members. They clutched yellow roses as they returned from Litwicki's funeral and came to the Little League event, which was just as emotional.

Litwicki's 12-year-old daughter spoke just after her mother's murder, and remains a pilar of strength for her siblings.

"I`m holding up pretty well for the situation that I'm in. There won't be a day in my mind that I wont think about my mom, but I know she is up in heaven thinking I'm being strong and I know it will be alright," Kirsten Litwicki said.

Maggie Litwicki's mother says the money will be put away for the children's future.

Also on Wednesday, Christopher Gish pleaded not guilty to first-degree intentional homicide. This, after Gish waived his right to a preliminary hearing. The court then bound him over for trial.

If convicted, Gish faces life in prison.
