Lac du Flambeau man dies in apparent drowning

LAC DU FLAMBEAU, Wis. (AP) — A Lac du Flambeau man is dead after an apparent drowning in Vilas County.

41-year-old Thomas Soper was pulled from Gunlock Lake, located about 173 miles northeast of Eau Claire in northwest Wisconsin.

The sheriff’s department learned of the drowning just after noon today. Deputies say the cause of death is not known at this time.
