EB lane of Highway 43 in Fond du Lac reopen after honey spill

FOND DU LAC -- The eastbound lane of Highway 43 in Fond du Lac has reopened after a honey spill.

Officials say a bee farmer was carrying about 200 barrels of honey on Highway 43 when he lost part of his load near the on-ramp to Highway 41 southbound.

The Fond du Lac Police, Fond du Lac County Sheriff and various Highway Departments were called to the scene to assist with the spill. Officials used a pressure washer to clear the honey from the highway.

Authorities say the vehicle transporting the honey did not crash before the spill.

At this time it is unknown what caused the barrels to come loose.
