BURLINGTON — The Racine Sheriff’s Department says a semi truck overturned late Thursday night, August 16th in Burlington, shutting down part of Highway 11.

Officials say the driver was traveling eastbound when he entered the median area and over-corrected, causing the semi to overturn.

Authorities say the driver was not injured in the crash, but the accident did shut down the eastbound lanes. It took crews several hours to turn the semi truck right-side up and remove it from the road.

Police say the semi truck was transporting some type of food. There is no word on what caused the driver to swerve toward the median, or if the semi truck was based out of Wisconsin.
