Rindfleisch due in court for motions hearing

MILWAUKEE -- Kelly Rindfleisch, one of the people linked to an on-going John Doe investigation, is due in court Monday morning for a motions hearing.

43-year-old Rindfleisch is accused of campaigning while working on the tax payers’ dime. She has pleaded not guilty to four counts of misconduct in office, felony charges that carry a maximum combined penalty of six years in prison and a $40,000 fine. She was Gov. Scott Walker‘s Deputy Chief of Staff when he was the Milwaukee County Executive.

Rindfleisch is accused of working on the 2010 “Brett Davis campaign for Lieutenant Go’vernor” while on the county’s clock. Prosecutors say she sent out hundreds of e-mails, as many as 74 a day, to campaign workers from a secret wireless network she had hidden in her office.

Rindfleisch was Walker’s deputy chief of staff in Milwaukee County. She’s one of six Walker associates facing charges in a secret investigation, although Walker himself has not been charged with wrongdoing.

Rindfleisch is due in court for a motions hearing at 8:30 a.m. Monday.
