Packers, Sargento again team up for "Touchdowns for Charity"

GREEN BAY -- The Green Bay Packers and Sargento have teamed up again for their 10th season supporting “Touchdowns for Charity,” a program that helps alleviate hunger in Wisconsin through contributions to the Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee and Paul’s Pantry in Green Bay.

For each touchdown scored by the Packers during the 2012 regular season, Sargento will donate $1,000 to the Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee and $500 to Paul’s Pantry in Green Bay.

Since partnering 10 years ago, Sargento has contributed more than $775,000 to Wisconsin food charities. Last year, Sargento donated $74,000 to the Hunger Task Force and $26,000 to Paul’s Pantry for touchdowns scored in regular and postseason games.

During Packers home games, announcements will be made after every touchdown indicating the support for the program. Packers.com will feature a Sargento banner logo with the up-to-date total.

Sargento Foods Inc. was founded in 1953 in Plymouth and is a leading manufacturer, packager and marketer of natural shredded, sliced and snack cheeses, cheese appetizers, ingredients, sauces and other culinary solutions.
