One killed, three injured in multiple-vehicle crash near 27th, Coldspring

GREENFIELD -- Police say four people were taken to the hospital following a multiple-vehicle crash Saturday evening, September 8th near 27th Street and West Coldspring Road. Greenfield police said via Twitter Sunday one of the four injured has died.

Three vehicle were involved in the crash.

Police say their investigation indicates a pickup truck driven by a 70-year-old woman was heading south on 27th Street, approaching the intersection of West Coldspring Road. A 51-year-old woman driving a Toyota Corolla was heading north on S. 27th Street and made a left turn in front of the pickup truck.

The 70-year-old female driver suffered non life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The 51-year-old female driver, a 19-year-old male passenger and a 15-year-old male passenger were taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The 51-year-old woman died Sunday, September 9th.

A third vehicle sustained damage after a traffic signal fell, after it was struck by the pickup truck.

Police say they do not believe alcohol or speed were factors in this crash.

This crash remains under investigation.
