Packers host Bears in Thursday night game at Lambeau Field

GREEN BAY -- The Green Bay Packers had a short week this week. Following a 30-22 season opener loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the Pack takes on the Chicago Bears Thursday, September 13th at Lambeau Field.

This marks the first time in 26 years that the NFL’s Week 2 slate features a Thursday evening contest.

The Bears are 1-0 headed into the second regular season game, while the Pack is 0-1.

Thursday's game begins at 7:20 p.m., and will be broadcast on FOX6.

Thursday's Packers vs. Bears game will mark the 185th in the NFL's oldest rivalry. No two teams have met on the gridiron more than the Packers and Bears.

Green Bay has won four straight and six of the last seven meetings between the teams (including playoffs). The Packers’ current four-game winning streak against the Bears is their longest vs. Chicago since a seven-game streak from 2000-03. Six of the last eight games between the Packers and Bears (including postseason) have been decided by seven points or less.

The Packers and Bears have met on a Thursday night only once before, an Oct. 17, 1991, contest at Lambeau Field. That was Green Bay’s first-ever appearance on a Thursday night and this week’s contest will be the Packers’ seventh Thursday evening game in team history.

The Packers and Bears last met in the regular season on Christmas Day, 2011, when the Pack beat the Bears 35-21. QB Aaron Rodgers threw a career-high five TD passes, and with 283 passing yards on the evening, set the single-season franchise record for most passing yards in a season with 4,643 (Lynn Dickey, 4,458). WRs Jordy Nelson and James Jones each caught two TD passes on the night.

During the 2010 season, the teams squared off in the playoffs for just the second time in the history of the series. With a berth in Super Bowl XLV on the line, the Packers emerged victorious, 21-14, in the NFC Championship Game at Soldier Field.
