At FOX6's fall season kickoff party, Reid and Lovato weren't ready to pick their favorites to win Season 2 just yet.

"I'll have to see. The talent was pretty good last year. This year it was very different. I'll have to see how it progresses if I can tell you if it's better. I cant tell you right now that it's better," Reid said.

Lovato says she was a little nervous when she first sat down at the judge's table alongside Reid, show creator Simon Cowell and fellow newcomer Spears.

"I think my first question I was like I stuttered, and didn't know what to say and it was super uncomfortable. I was really nervous but I had Britney there who was also -- it was her first time being on a judge and we had each other, so it was pretty cool," Lovato said.

Already having a string of hits, Lovato's latest song "Give Your Heart A Break" is "Number 1" on the Billboard single's chart.

"I'm very thankful and I still hear it on the radio and I'm like, 'that's weird!'" Lovato said.

While her job on the show is to find and develop an undiscovered singer or group, Lovato admits she had to train herself not to vote for hot guys just because of their looks.

"I start to pay more attention to the looks than I have to. I have to be careful with that, which is so not good and not this competition.  I learned how to train myself like 'hey your really cute, but you suck,'" Lovato said.

X FACTOR's two-hour season premiere airs Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. on FOX6.
