MADISON (AP) — The primary in a special election to fill a Milwaukee-area state Senate seat vacated by Republican Rich Zipperer will be Nov. 6th, the same day as the presidential election.
Gov. Scott Walker on Tuesday, September 18th announced Nov. 6th as the primary date and Dec. 4th as the general election.
Zipperer resigned the 33rd district seat in August to serve as Walker’s deputy chief of staff.
He was elected to the Senate in 2010 after serving two terms in the Assembly.
Nomination papers are due Oct. 9th.
Whoever wins the election will serve through the end of 2014.
