Authorities investigate suspicious package at Action Power Sports

WAUKESHA -- The Waukesha Police Department and the Milwaukee County Bomb Squad  were called to the scene of Action Power Sports near the intersection of HWY 59 and 164 in Waukesha Sunday night, September 23rd to investigate a suspicious device.

The Waukesha Police Department received a call for a burglar alarm at Action Power Sports located at 202 Travis Lane at approximately 11:40 p.m. Action Power Sports sells motorsports vehicles such as motorcycles, ATVs and snowmobiles.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a door smashed in. Upon entering the building, officers noticed a suspicious looking package -- prompting officials to call in additional squads as well as the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Bomb Squad.

Tactical vehicles and a robot assisted in the investigation. After further investigation, police say the package was determined to be a doorstop for the building, and not a threat.

Authorities say no one was found inside or around the building and preliminary reports indicate nothing was stolen from the business.

No further details have been released at this time and the incident remains under investigation.
