Two Racine delivery drivers robbed at same address within 12 hours

RACINE -- Two Racine delivery drivers took food to the same address over the weekend, and each was robbed! The crimes happened within 12 hours of each other, and police say the suspect description is the same in each incident.

The delivery drivers were from Domino's Pizza and the Whey Chai Chinese restaurant. Each was robbed at the same home in the 1500 block of Winslow Street.

First on Saturday night, and again on Sunday morning (in separate incidents), the delivery drivers approached the home. The drivers were then approached by a gunman wearing a bandanna.

Both times, the suspect was able to get away with food and "a minimal amount of money," according to police.

Police say they have no leads, and are unsure how the suspect is connected to the address he used. Police describe the suspect as a 17-19 year old male.

At DeRango's Pizza on Racine's north side, the pizzas stay in the restaurant, as owner Ralph Cifuno says the restaurant has a policy against making deliveries.

"The liability issues, and we're responsible for the delivery person, and these days, everybody's suit-happy. We don't wanna get in a lawsuit because somebody gets robbed. I feel bad for the guy that got robbed and the business that lost money. Again, that's one of the reasons we don't want to deliver. It's not worth it. We have a good business as it is, and we don't need any more headaches," Cifuno said.

FOX6 News spoke with an employee at the Whey Chai Chinese restaurant, who said the delivery driver who was robbed is okay, and was able to finish his shift on Sunday.
