Packers come from behind for 28-27 win over Saints at Lambeau

GREEN BAY -- The Green Bay Packers defeated the New Orleans Saints in the NFL's Week Four, 28-27 at Lambeau Field Sunday, September 30th.

This was the first game at Lambeau Field since the NFL's regular referees were back on the field, following one of the most controversial calls in NFL history to end last week's Packers game vs. the Seahawks in Seattle.

There appeared to be more officiating problems for the Packers during this Sunday's game against the Saints, after Saints' Darren Sproles appeared to fumble on a kickoff return. The Packers appeared to recover the fumble but Referee Jeff Triplette ruled that Sproles was down by contact, which allowed the Saints to retain possession.

The Packers led the Saints in Sunday's game at halftime, 21-14.

With the win, the Packers evened their record at 2-2. The Saints dropped to 0-4.

Saints' quarterback Drew Brees threw a touchdown pass in his 47th consecutive regular-season game, tying the NFL mark set by Johnny Unitas.

The New Orleans Saints quarterback found Marques Colston for a 20-yard touchdown with 3:33 left in the first quarter -- allowing the Saints to tie the score.

Packers fans, already sensitive about refereeing calls after Monday night's replacement official debacle in Seattle, booed the regular officials after they thought Colston should have been flagged for offensive pass interference on the play.

Referee Jeff Triplette struck a triumphant tone before Sunday's Saints-Packers game at Lambeau Field, announcing during the pregame coin toss that "it's great to be back, gentlemen!''

With the NFL's regular referees back on the job, Packers players are ready to move on from a call that cost them a win at Seattle. Their fans don't quite seem to be ready yet.

Some fans showed up Sunday intending to voice their displeasure with replacement officials whose decision to allow a last-second Seahawks touchdown cost the Packers the game Monday night. "Worst Call Ever,'' read one fan's sweatshirt. A sign in the stands welcomed back the regular officials, and a handful of fans wore black and white striped shirts.

Aaron Rodgers shared a laugh with one of the regular officials before the game.
