Four injured, two critically in Town of Walworth crash

WALWORTH COUNTY -- Walworth County Sheriff's officials say four people were injured in a crash between a van and a car on U.S. Highway 14/67 and Lakeville Road in the Town of Walworth on Sunday, September 30th. Two of those injured were taken to the hospital via Flight for Life.

Officials say the crash occurred just after 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening.

Officials say a van towing a fishing boat and trailer was traveling southbound on Highway 14 and was struck by a car heading eastbound on Highway 67 that failed to yield after stopping at the stop sign.

The van's driver, 58-year-old Scott Bergstrom of Huntley, Illinois was uninjured. The van's passenger, 58-year-old William Binotti of Tinley Park, Illinois was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The car's driver, 29-year-old Shawn Cummings of Crystal Lake, Illinois was taken to the hospital via Flight for Life with critical injuries. A passenger in the car, seven-year-old Lia Cummings of Crystal Lake, Illinois was also taken to the hospital via Flight for Life with critical injuries.

22-year-old Sabrina Hinde of Glendale Heights, Illinois was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Officials say the crash remains under investigation. The road was shut down for three hours following the crash.
