Two would-be thieves busted after entering law enforcement conference

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police say a couple of would-be thieves made their way into the Italian Community Center Monday, October 22nd -- apparently unaware of the more than 100 marked and unmarked police vehicles parked in the lot.

240 retired and on-duty officers (many in uniform) were at the center for a conference Monday when two individuals reportedly entered the facility and allegedly tried to steal a few items from behind a bar when they were caught in the act by employees who notified the officers -- all 240 of them!

Officers from the Milwaukee Police Department, Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, Racine Police and Germantown Police ran after the suspects.

The two were arrested and they also were wanted on warrants, according to police.
