Verlo Mattress Factory launches “cheesehead” bed in honor of Packers
MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee-based Verlo Mattress Factory has introduced a “cheesehead” bed in honor of the Green Bay Packers.
In a statement, the “cheesehead” bed is described as “a customized fan experience that combines a good night sleep with championship football, perfect for the die-hard fans of the Green Bay Packers.”
The bed is inspired by the popular foam “cheesehead” hats frequently worn by Packers fans during football games. The bed is made of a gel foam or memory foam mattress encased in a gold-colored cover that resembles a big block of cheese.
The Verlo Mattress Factory is the “Official Mattress of the Green Bay Packers.”
“We felt it would be fun to show our team spirit and create a mattress that is bound to bring a smile to Packers fans — as well as a good night’s sleep,” Scott Baitinger, chief marketing officer at Verlo said.
The “cheesehead” bed has a unique pricing structure. When the Packers win, the mattress will be sold at a celebratory price for 24 hours following the win. For example, a twin-sized Cheesehead Bed that normally retails for $799 will be reduced to only $599.
As part of the launch, Verlo is also introducing the “Who has the Cheesiest Bedroom?” Facebook contest. Scheduled to run November 1st through November 30th, the lucky fan who submits a photo of the cheesiest bedroom will receive a free “cheesehead” bed delivered by former Green Bay Packers safety LeRoy Butler.
