Marciniak sentenced to two years probation in baseball card theft

RACINE -- Joseph Marciniak of St. Francis was sentenced on Tuesday, November 6th to two years probation for stealing some $400 in baseball cards from a Racine Kmart.

Racine police say Marciniak took 25 packages of baseball cards and threatened a security officer with a box cutter.

They eventually arrested Marciniak at his parent’s home. Marciniak told police he had done the same thing three times before, and only got tickets.

Because of the box cutter, Marciniak had faced up to 40 years in prison. But again, the judge hearing his case sentenced him to two years probation -- and stayed any jail time.
