New Culver's in Elm Grove donates 100% of proceeds to Azana victims' families

ELM GROVE -- A Culver's restaurant in Elm Grove that just opened was a big hit Thursday night, November 8th. Lines were long inside and outside the restaurant, but no one complained. The restaurant held a fundraiser for the families of the victims of the Azana Salon & Spa shooting in Brookfield -- with 100% of proceeds going directly to the families.

The Culver's restaurant in Elm Grove is only about a month old.

"People are just happy that we're new in the community. They understand it's for a good cause. They understand the wait might be a little longer than normal, but they're just happy to help out," a Culver's official told FOX6 News.

Owners of the new franchise brought over additional help to keep the lines moving.

"We're trying to go as fast as we can to try to serve everybody as quick as we can, and everybody has been gracious," one owner said.

Besides burgers and custard, customers also had the chance to get their hands on some other items -- all benefiting the families of the victims of the Azana Salon & Spa shooting.

"Every single business that we contacted gave us something, so it was just amazing how the businesses just poured out and gave their hearts," a Culver's official said.

"We felt it was the right thing to do -- just go all out, 100% and make it happen," a Culver's official said.

Four other Culver's restaurants in southeastern Wisconsin are operated by the owner of the Elm Grove restaurant. He says donations can be made to the Azana Salon & Spa victims' families as you're ordering your food inside through a private drop box.
