Mount Pleasant woman pleads guilty in OWI case that involved Sheriff’s squad

MOUNT PLEASANT — A Mount Pleasant woman arrested for her third OWI after striking a Racine County Sheriff’s deputy’s squad car and a traffic control light — pleaded guilty on Tuesday, November 20th.

50-year-old Denise Olson was traveling northbound on Ohio St. when she struck a Racine County Sheriff Deputy squad traveling southbound. Police say Olson was attempting to take a left-hand turn onto 16th St. when the incident occurred.

Police say after Olson struck the squad, she continued to travel on 16th Street and also struck a traffic control light.

Authorities say the Racine County deputy was transported to the hospital and released with minor injuries.

Olson is set for sentencing on January 11th.
