Eight injured after car vs. truck crash in Dodge County

WATERTOWN — Dodge County Sheriff’s officials say eight people were injured in a crash that occurred Wednesday morning, November 28th in the Township of Chester.

The crash occurred near State Highway 26 and County Highway I just before 9:30 a.m.

Officials say a truck, driven by a Watertown man, was headed northbound on State Highway 26 near County Highway I when it crossed the center line, striking a van with eight occupants heading southbound.

The operator of the van reportedly tried to avoid the collision by slowing and merging onto the west shoulder, but the truck struck the van in the left front, causing the van to roll over.

All eight of the van’s occupants were taken to the hospital, and are expected to survive their injuries.

The operator of the truck was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
