Battery charge against Francisco Rodriguez dropped

WAUKESHA CO. -- A misdemeanor battery charge against Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Francisco Rodriguez has been dropped.

Rodriguez had pleaded not guilty to the charge for an alleged incident involving his girlfriend in the Village of Wales in September.

In court on Thursday, November 29th, the state indicated it could not meet its burden of proof in the case. The court then ordered the matter dismissed.

Rodriguez was with the Brewers for the past year-and-a-half, but became a free agent when his contract expired at the end of the season.
