Operation Home-baked for the Holidays accepting donations

FRANKLIN -- Volunteers with the Friends of the Franklin Public Library are doing what they can to boost the morale of deployed U.S. trooped this coming holiday season. They're doing so with Operation Home-baked for the Holidays.

On Friday, November 30th, those volunteers collected thousands of home-baked cookies and other sweet treats to ship overseas.

From Snickerdoodle and Spritz, to Chocolate Chip and Monster cookies, they were all packed up to brighten the holidays for soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines.

The collection continues on Saturday, December 1st from 10 a.m. until noon at the Franklin Public Library, located at 9151 W. Loomis Rd.

Those who can’t stop by during the designated hours can still contribute to this effort with a donation to help pay shipping expenses, which costs 11 cents per cookie.  Cash or check donations made payable to Books for Soldiers-Franklin can be sent to Pyramax Bank, 9000 W. Drexel Ave., Franklin WI 53132.
