MILWAUKEE -- On Wednesday night, December 5th neighbors got to take a look at a computer-aided design proposal for the reopening of Pizza Man -- slated for Downer near Bellview.

The plans feature a dining room with high ceilings under natural light, a second-story open air section for outdoor eating and a wine tasting room.

The Milwaukee food staple was located at North and Oakland until a fire destroyed the restaurant back in 2010.

City leaders expect the design to go to the Planning Commission next week and be considered by the council later in the month.

Pizza Man’s owner says he’d like to have the doors open to the new restaurant by summer 2013, and will likely hire between 40 and 50 people.

Pizza Man customers can receive updates on the progress toward re-opening by visiting the Pizza Man Facebook page. Pizza Man is also on Twitter at @pizzamanmke.
