City, County of Milwaukee reach 3-year deal on 911 calls

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors approved on Thursday, December 20th, a three-year agreement with the City of Milwaukee to have the city handle all emergency 911 calls placed in the city.

Officials say the agreement between the municipalities provides Milwaukee County taxpayers with $35,000 in savings during the next three years. It also sets a precedent for future shared services,  

The agreement approved by the Board becomes effective January 1, 2013 through January 1, 2016 and includes the option of a two-year extension through January 1, 2018.
