Marquette tops UConn in OT, 82-76

MILWAUKEE -- The Marquette University Golden Eagles opened the Big East season on Tuesday night, January 1st with a victory over Connecticut, 82-76.

With Buzz Williams serving a one-game suspension for a recruiting violation by a former assistant this past summer, current assistant Brad Autry ran the show.

Marquette blew a 10-point, second-half lead over the Huskies. But Junior Cadougan sent the game to overtime with a rare triple.

With Tuesday's victory, the Golden Eagles won their 17th straight on their home court.
