Richfield man killed in head-on crash on Hwy. 164

RICHFIELD -- 28-year-old Jeffery Hasby of Richfield was killed in a head-on crash with another vehicle on State Highway 164 just south of Pioneer Rd. on Tuesday night, January 1st.

Investigators say 21-year-old Tyler Hust of Sussex was traveling southbound on Hwy. 164 around 7:45 p.m. While passing another vehicle, his car crashed head-on with the vehicle driven by the victim and his 29-year-old wife Katey Hasby.

Hust was wearing a safety belt and was taken to Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls.

Officials say Jeffery Hasby and Katey Hasby were not wearing safety belts. Katey Hasby was transported by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital.

Jeffery Hasby was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is not known at this time if alcohol and/or drugs were contributing factors in this crash.

According to information posted online, the Hasbys were just married this past September. Condolences now fill Katey's Facebook page.

Alverno College said Katey graduated their nursing program in December with an award of excellence for her work with Alzheimer's patients.

Hust, a former Sussex-Hamilton football player made his own post since the accident from the hospital, saying: "I don't know where to go from here."
