Ruling reversed regarding Mukwonago "Indians" nickname

MUKWONAGO -- Those trying to keep Mukwonago High School's "Indians" nickname lost a court battle on Thursday, January 3rd.

A judge's ruling that would allow the school to keep the name was reversed on Thursday by the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.

Two former students filed suit, saying the state's "Mascot Law" was unconstitutional.

A Waukesha County judge then ruled the law is not unconstitutional, but the way it was applied was.

That ruling was overturned on Thursday.

If they want to appeal, the case will next go to the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
