Preliminary hearing delayed for man accused of plotting to kill

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The preliminary hearing for an East Troy man accused of plotting for months to kill an old acquaintance has been delayed until Wednesday, January 23rd.

54-year-old Daniel Plevak is charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon. His preliminary hearing was delayed on Monday, January 14th because his attorney told the court he did not have enough time to prepare for the hearing.

According to the criminal complaint against Plevak, he had been planning to kill a Wauwatosa man for at least six months.

The complaint indicates Plevak would drive through the intended victim's neighborhood in a Penske rental truck. After getting a tip from a neighbor, police pulled the truck over. Plevak was driving the vehicle. Police say he had a gun and a picture of someone who lives on the block.  According to police, Plevak was also wearing a wig, dark sunglasses, a fake mustache and he apparently had a fake arm. According to a search warrant obtained by FOX6 News, police believe it was all part of Plevak’s plan.

If convicted on the attempted homicide charge, Plevak faces up to 60 years in prison.
