Police investigating motor vehicle theft near 9th and Wells Monday

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Milwaukee police are investigating what was initially reported as a robbery, and later downgraded to a motor vehicle theft that occurred near 9th and Wells around the noon hour Monday, January 14th.¬†

This incident was reported to Marquette University’s Department of Public Safety.

The victim, not known to be affiliated with Marquette, left the vehicle running and the subject took the vehicle and fled west on Wells Street.

Police describe the suspect as a white man in his 30s, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket and blue jeans.

The vehicle is described as a 2012 red Ford Escape with the license plate: U52-PNG.
