Digital billboards to feature picture of missing 24-year-old Nick Wilcox

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- 24-year-old Nick Wilcox remains missing as of Wednesday, January 16th, after he disappeared while out with friends on New Year's Eve. Now, there are digital billboards displaying Wilcox's picture in the Milwaukee area, as loved ones hope for a break in this case.

Jay McGonagil, father of Kelly McGonagil -- Wilcox's girlfriend, said loved ones contacted Clear Channel to have the digital billboards put up.

Wilcox's loved ones are refusing to give up hope, and again spent Sunday, January 13th looking for Wilcox.

With maps in hand and a goal in mind, Wilcox's loved ones again met Sunday at the Irish Rec Room bar -- where Wilcox was last seen celebrating with friends on New Year's Eve.

Wilcox's girlfriend, Kelly McGonagil says she hopes for a break in this case soon.

For the past week, search teams have focused on downtown Milwaukee, but since no leads have come up -- they are now extending the search.

"We're looking around the Brady Street foot bridge and trails there. They've been covered already, but we want to look in the woods and make sure we're not missing any clue," McGonagil said.

On Sunday morning, search teams split up. Some focused on the harbor where a dive team was out practicing -- a sight Wilcox's loved ones were glad to see -- saying every eye out in the water helps.

Even strangers showed up to help Wilcox's loved ones try to find him.

"I thought if it were a member of my family, I would want people to help," Deborah Foot said.

Between passing out flyers and alerting people on Facebook, McGonagil said the search for Wilcox is a heart-wrenching mission she's dedicating every day to.

"I have to be hopeful. It's what keeps me going and what keeps me doing this. Just taking it one day at a time. It's very frustrating. We don't have any answers. We're not giving up and still praying that he is safe and we're going to find him," McGonagil said.

Meanwhile, officials are asking anyone who lives in the downtown area to look for clues around their homes.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to contact the Milwaukee Police Department.
